Animale of the day

I met my friend Pedro, the Praying Mantis, this morning. He seemed to be moving aimlessly through the kitchen, a bit perturbed, or lost perhaps even. It´s rather fascinating to see one of these beautiful creatures turn their head decisively in your direction when they spot you (?), a blob (?), a temperature change (?). They are predatory, after all.. It´s funny how we look upon these creatures with fascination, when they belong to the same family as termites and cockroaches... They are definitely not crickets or grasshoppers. They most remind me of Star Trek´s species 4872...
