Quite unlike most hotels these days, the hotel I was staying in in Ljubljana sported
real paintings in its corridors and rooms, rather than reproductions and prints so often seen these days in public spaces; and not un-nice ones, too, in tune with the sense of history the stone stairs, and archways excuded. I really liked the painting in my room, by an artist unknown (to me). It´s difficult to see on the photo of it, but the artist had applied the paint in such a way that the ground on which the deer stood showed very convincing relief and depth. Very nice.
