Ah! Mercedes has done it again! My all-time favourite Singer, Argentinian Mercedes Sosa, now way up in her seventies, has produced two new CDs on which she performs duettes with famous singers and songwriters from all over the world. A wonderful and original compilation, illustrating how she has always, throughout her career, enabled other artists, young and old, well-known and obscure, to perform with her. She's always had young and upcoming talent surrounding her, many of whom have since 'made it' in the music business. This CD is wonderfully mellow and impressive! A short clip showing 'the making of' can be found on Youtube. Unfortunately, sad breaking news just came out that she is very ill. When the double CD was launched a few months ago, she was unable to attend because of ill health.
