Swap

Today, Sunday, we attended the Pearces Creek produce swap, where locals come together to, well, swap produce. You can bring anything you have grown or made yourself and negotiate your way into filling your hamper with other people´s produce. The event saw my love´s capability as a Negotiator Extraordinaire - we had brought a bucket of lemons (yes, from the same batch of 300-odd lemons that came off the tree we pruned ages ago), and a beautiful coffee-and-walnut cake Anjès had just baked half an hour before. We went home with what you can see in the photo... amazing, isn´t it? Click on the photo to enlarge, and just look at the ladyfinger bananas - obtained at the price of one piece of cake. At current prices in Australia a bunch like that in the supermarket would cost you around $15...
