After a long 24-hour journey arrived in Glasgow, where the whole of Sunday was taken up by a committee meeting and dinner and today, Monday, by a pre-conference event which we organised as YLT SIG. Niki organised the event and, as I write, I am listening to Shelley Terrel giving the teachers participating in the workshops 10 survival tips for teaching English to very young learners (i.e. 0-6 years). Opal Dunn is talking about assessing very young learners, a contentious subject... More presentations are lined up for the rest of the day, including a masterclass in teaching English through cooking by the committee's very own Caroline Linse.
