Today we had asked John and Mieke over for dinner. BecauseYarrow had come back from Newcastle yesterday, we decided to do the changeover this evening. Niki had been cooking up a wonderful pork roast all afternoon. Yarrow came home from school, and all seemed normal. Even when John and Mieke arrived, we suspected nothing - until quite unexpectedly, Tess walked in through the backdoor! Beaming a huge smile and sporting a summery dress, she looked wonderful. She'd been allowed 'out' for the evening after her medical stats following the active weekend (see previous posts) were excellent! So ... we had a wonderful meal together, sitting round the table on the back deck, and it felt so wondrously normal! After dinner we all jumped into the pool. Thank you, Mieke, for this great surprise. I pointed out the Yesterday-Today-Tomorrow tree out to Tess and said: "We've had yesterday; today is wonderful, and now there will be lots of tomorrows.".
