Katka

Today Tess, Yarrow, Ongel and Grandpa and myself visited the town of Grafton where we went to see an exhibition of pastels paintings by Katka Adams. The exhibition is called ´Ít´s not common for hens to have pillows´. For those of you who don´t know who Katka is: she came into the Witsel family years ago when she was about nine I believe. Her mother, Eva, who unfortunately passed away last year, was not always able to look after Katka, and Ton and Ellen welcomed Katka into their family during the times she needed care. Katka has been part of their family ever since. She is a very talented artist (see her website) who has many solo and group exhibitions and who has won many prizes and awards for her art in oils, pastels, as well as drawings, in Australia. Katka lives in Clunes. Go and check out her website and view the paintings in the online Gallery as well as in the Awards list. We loved seeing her art displayed in as beautiful a place as the Grafton Gallery. The drive up and down to Grafton (about an hour and a half each way) and the lunch at the Gallery were extremely pleasurable. At the end of the day we had dinner at Ton and Ellen´s where Tess and Yarrow performed circus tricks on the Persian carpet in the living-room...
