Portuguese music

Just to give you an idea of what contemporary Portuguese music can sound like, here are a few Youtube clips for you to enjoy! Many Portuguese bands will sing in English because it gives them wider coverage around the world. Ala dos Namorados have been round the longest; David Fonseca is also a well-established name on the Portuguese / World music landscape. Rita Redshoes is a local girl from around where Niki lives and works, Loures, and interestingly she became famous by 'just' publishing her music on myspace Last but not least Mariza, who is the Amalia Rodrigues of the 21st century and ... whom we will be seeing live (!) on 27 June - it's my birthday present from Niki.
