Today my love and I, accompanied by Tess, drove off to the Gold Coast again to the Department of Immigration to arrange the Bridging Visa which allow Niki to travel back to Portugal to do her work for the university in Lisbon. Thanks to the kind help of the staff there, and a letter from the University confirming Niki´s contract, the visa was quickly arranged. While Niki and I are abroad the application for the partner visa will stay in place and be processed. Because processing times are between 6 and 9 months at the moment, it´s not likely that we´ll hear before we return. We´re looking forward to this being the last bridge...
