Lovely party

The Weather Makers were with us this weekend! On Saturday afternoon, about 25 of our friends and family came down to Houghlahans Creek Road to celebrate my birthday and Niki´s return with us. Beautiful dishes had been prepared by all - curry, pasta, artisan bread, cakes, soup and other comestibles aplenty. Thanks to the kind weather we could spend most of the afternoon on the back deck. The last of our guests left by 7.30 at night by which time we had just retired inside.

Sunday my love spent the morning and afternoon in the garden, where I joined her in the afternoon - clearing the overgrown herb patch and harvesting 309 (!) lemons from the bolted lemon tree along the side fence, now pruned back to a much smaller shadow of itself with some 50 or 60 of the fruit remaining. We´ll try and flog the 309 with an honesty box on the side of the road and ´volunteer´ them to unwitting victims...

We´re also planning a veggie patch, but are still trying to locate the best area to plant our future meals...

Watching Downton Abbey at the moment in front of a fire that doesn´t want to spark into life...
